Week 10

Week 10

Week 10 was a simple, but also busy week as we were preparing to go to PARIS. :)

Monday I just had class. I went to the Apple store to try and get my computer fixed. If you read the previous post you would have read that my computer didn't turn on when I came back from Scotland. I ended up having to make an appointment with the "Genius" bar later that week.

Tuesday we had to go to the Victoria Albert Museum for a class, after that Kayla and I did some window shopping on Oxford Circus. Then we just did homework that night. We were trying to get it all done!

Wednesday was a free day! We didn't have anything planned as a study abroad group. Kayla and I went to The Breakfast Club. BEST PANCAKES EVER. Seriously though. And they even had American bacon! Luckily I was able to get an appointment for my computer, so I went to see what was wrong. I was SO happy to find out that my battery was just dead. We ordered a new one and it is good as new! (well..it is a 2008) That night Kayla and I had a mustache photo shoot! Then we went to the London Eye. Another gorgeous view of London!

Recognize this pose from the movie?

"We'd love to stay and chat. But we really 'mustache'" :)

View from the London Eye. You see the Big Ben?!

Thursday I did homework all day..then when I came down for dinner I was surprised to see a package from Joel! (He told me that I should be expecting a call..that didn't come so I didn't think anything of it.) He really is the best fiancé in the ENTIRE WORLD. Sorry ladies. No other man compares to him. :) Joel bought me a mint blazer and adorable ankle boots!! He also had my mom write a cute note and put in some easter candy. That was the best surprise! It was my turn that night to go to Les Miserables. It was INCREDIBLE. I was in love.

Friday our whole study abroad group toured St. Paul's cathedral, we even got to climb to the dome! Friday night we all got tickets to the Philharmonic Spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall! First of all, that theater is amazing! So pretty. The performance was so good! When the orchestra played the 1812 overture there were real cannons, indoor fireworks, and fire! Talk about going all out.

If you haven't noticed..we love our self portraits. :)
(I am wearing the blazer Joel picked out for me)

Saturday we didn't have London walks since we did them a day early, so it was another free day! Kayla and I decided to get some things done on our list. We tried to go to a room where it rains everywhere except where you are standing. Unfortunately it ended a week before we were able to get there. We went back to Buckingham Palace to get pictures, and made a few errands for Paris. My parents have some friend's, The Hinman's, serving a mission in the Brighton area. They were kind enough to drive up to London to take me, Kayla and their friend's son to dinner! It was a fun night at a French restaurant and hanging out with them.

Sunday was St. Patrick's Day, Kayla and I went to the Hyde Park Ward so we could make it to the St. Patty's Day celebration! There was a large parade through Picadilly leading to Trafalgar Square. There was a large stage set up to hold performers and a farmer's market. it was the biggest St. Patrick's Day celebration outside of Ireland!
