Week 7

Week 7!
Half way through.

Monday went so fast! Of course because I didn't do anything. It must be boring to read, but class and homework as usual. My group in Theater class had to present, so we got that over with!

Tuesday we finished our presentation by acting out some Medieval Theater in Hyde Park! We are definitely not actors. Then we went to a Catholic Mass at Westminster cathedral for the final touch of our project. It was interesting to see how a different religion worships, and the cathedral was so pretty!

Wednesday we had no plans! So what do I do? Sleep in. Run. And work on the little things. :) Most of the day I worked on a "Bachelor" video we made for a variety show.

Thursday was again a relaxing day. Class and Homework!

We usually have our London walks every Saturday, but this week we had them on Friday. We walked around Chelsea and saw 'stars' houses. AKA. Mic Jagger's house! (Sorry if I misspelled his name) Then Kayla and I went to the AQUARIUM! It was so fun! We saw a lot of sharks, turtles, penguins, and fish!

I made some fish friends.

Fishy!

Dory!

The penguins were so cute! They were jumping in and out of the pool just putting on a show for us!

Kayla's new boyfriend. He will have to write her!

Shark diving!
(Don't mind the photo bomber..We weren't supposed to use flash but we sneaked it anyway. And this was the only good one!)

This picture is for Mary Evans. Her eyes are totally bigger!

Me and Pingu are freaked out! Run away...

I don't think we quite fit. Oh well!

Saturday we got the opportunity to meet with the YSA ward in our stake to head to the temple! I was so happy it worked out. We left around 10:30 and didn't do baptisms until 3. There is a visitor's center there so we watched movies and took pictures! Unfortunately it was FREEZING so we didn't get to really walk around the grounds. But it was still so great to be able to attend the temple! I can cross that off my list!

Morgan and I

This was almost our whole group from BYU that went. Hanging out in the Visitor's center waiting for the coach!

Funny story time! I was talking to a girl on the coach about how I was engaged and getting married in June. This guy asked me if I was a BYU student, then where I was from. Provo. He said he went to East High School. I got really excited and said that my fiancĂ© went to East. He asked who it was. Joel Hulbert. Tom (man above) got super excited and started going on and on about how wonderful Joel is. (I already knew that!) Tom ends up being from Joel's home ward in Salt Lake. We also figured out that we talked at Joel's ward one Sunday before we both came to England. Small world in the gospel!

This week was fun and simple! Now for a really busy 8th week...

Week 6

Welcome to week 6!

Monday was classes and homework as usual. (I am starting to see a pattern) We LOVE Ben's cookies. So what did we do for FHE? That's right. Cookies. And movie night of course.

Tuesday was another quiet day. Getting those journals done!

Wednesday we visited Leighton House. There were really cool rooms decorated with tile!

Thursday: HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. Kayla was my date for the day and we went to Ed's diner for lunch. That night we all went to see a college put on Oedipus in Greek! Talk about romantic. :)

Friday we took a train to Hampton Court! Home of Henry VIII. It was so beautiful! We just spent the day looking at the palace and the gorgeous gardens! Luckily it was a nice, warmer day so we could stand being outside!

So pretty!

Kayla and I have fun posing next to statues. :)
This was the ceiling in the King's apartment area. Ready to start painting mom?

There was a whole room with guns as decoration! I think Devin would have liked this.
Gardens.

Tavia and I

Just the girls. Of course we HAD to do a photo shoot...

Saturday we had our London walk which ended in King's Cross train station! Home of Platform 9 3/4. I am going to Hogwarts!

Oh and that is Harry's wand. :)

Saturday was also our friend Courtney's birthday. A group of us went out to MeatLiquor. They had really good burgers!

Here are my primary kids!

Sunday a large group of us were able to go down to Brighton to put on a fireside for the YSA's down there. We had quiet an adventure! We got to the train station to find out that all trains to Brighton were cancelled due to electrical problems. We knew this was a big deal for the YSA, so we said a prayer and waited for a miracle. Luckily there was a train to East Croydon that would have one Brighton train leaving from it. It felt like the end of the world as everyone who needed to get to Brighton raced to the train! When we got to East Croydon we had 6 minutes to board the train to Brighton. And it was the only one going down! It was a miracle that we made it down! It was a beautiful fireside! The spirit was so strong as we heard testimonies of some conversion stories from our group and many musical numbers!
The Hinman's are my families friend from Virginia who are serving a mission in the Brighton area as well! They were able to drive over and make it to the fireside. I had heard so much about them but never got to meet them! It was so nice to have them there!

Twiners!!

Week 5

This is week was BUSY! We had something going on every night!

Monday we had our usual class time, and went to the Wallace collection to see some Gainsborough paintings. My group had FHE with George and Leslie Nelson, which was a good break. Especially because they gave us treats! We also had our movie night for our Humanities class. Jane Austen's Regrets. It was really good!
I  came up to my bed from the movie and saw a lovely display of heart balloons, candy and a card for me!

I was asked on a Valentine's date for Saturday night. I had to meet them at 4:30 for a surprise! There were a lot of people asked. It ended up being half the group asked the other half of the girls...and 3 guys.

Tuesday we had class, went to the British Museum for a lesson of Greek Theatre! And then we went to  WICKED!! I was so excited all day long. We had pretty good seats to start out with, but since the theater wasn't sold out a group of us moved closer! I ended up having ground floor, center, 9th row seats! It was the best!

Kayla and I in our 9th row seats. :)

I don't want to leave OZ. :(

When we left we even got pictures with Fiyero! Thanks to chasing him down toward the Tube station...

Wednesday we did a day trip to Cambridge and saw King's College Church. We hung around the town for a few hours, Kayla and I saw "The Impossible", then we all went to Evensong in King's Church. It was a beautiful cathedral! It was definitely a different experience going to a Anglican worship service...It was cool none the less!

Thursday we had class again. And did homework as usual. But at night we were able to go to a lecture on Greek theater.

Friday we toured Westminster Cathedral. It is gorgeous! That must have been a long walk for Kate Middleton. :) At night we saw a student production of scenes from "A Winter's Tale." They were able to open the Globe Theater (which is usual closed at this time of year).

Posin' at the Globe!

Saturday we had our London Walk and did some homework. Then I had my Valentine's Date! I knocked on that door behind us and there was McKenna! I had no idea she asked me. It was so fun because everyone was involved! Even the professors and their wives. :) The tables were decorated with Valentine decor, and we all had pizza together. Then we split off into groups (our group was still pretty big) and got some dessert!

Our group went to Scoop for dessert. They have the best crepes with Nutella and gelato!

My bubble!

After we got dessert, our group went on the London Eye! It was absolutely gorgeous! We were able to have a tube just for our group. So what do we naturally do? Have a dance party!

The view from the London Eye!

Me and McKenna after the London Eye! She is seriously the best. I love her! I am so glad that she took me on this "Date!"

It was a very busy, but incredibly fun week! :)
